Shivantha Fernando is a vocalist in the Marians musical band and has performed with them for the past 5 years, and continues to enjoy his musical career with them. He was born on the 20th of February 1981 in Colombo. He began to learn western music when he was a student at Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa. And he pursued his further studies in music, as soon as he finished his A/L’s. On 13th of February 2004 he joined the group “Marians”. Since then till today he gives of his best as a vocalist to the band.
The song “Yauwane” was his first solo song. It was composed by Mr. Prageeth Perera and it was influenced by an Italian song. Mr. Kalum Srimal participated in this song by writing lyrics.
Shivantha didn’t stop his solo singing by this song, he did more songs afterwards. Two of his new creations, “Me Rae” & “Sanda kalum” can be enjoyed through Rhythm FM. Presently he is working on his very first solo album which he plans to release by early next year.
