Katrina Kaif to open her own restaurant

Katrina Kaif is planning to open a chic restaurant in Mumbai. However, she is looking for a business partner to team up with.
The health conscious actress is ready to foray into a new business. She is set to invest in an up-class, high-end coffee house-cum-bar-cum-lounge-cum-restaurant where people can have not just international cuisines, but also socialize and relax.
“I want the restaurant to be styled and designed something along the lines of a London or New York high-end coffee shop, somewhere classy and cool,” Katrina is quoted by a Mumbai tabloid.
Katrina is on the lookout for a business partner who has some years of experience in restaurant business.
The actress is under no illusion that she won’t be able to give her full time to the restaurant. So she wants to tie up with a partner who understands the food and hospitality business and has the required expertise to run the restaurant.
The restaurant will most likely come up in Bandra.
Katrina says she will squeeze out as much time for the restaurant as she could.

Shahrukh never was King Khan: Aamir

Aamir Khan In yet another display of his characteristic frankness, Aamir Khan has said he doesn’t think Shahrukh Khan has ever been the ‘King Khan’.
They may not be archrivals, but they aren’t the best of buddies either. Often Aamir and SRK have taken swipes at each other through media, but they have always maintained that it was nothing more than good humoured banter. However, recently when SRK said in an interview that he hasn’t liked some of the things that Aamir has said about him, it was clear that not all was well between the two Khans. Aamir, in response, said SRK fails to understand his humour.
Now, Aamir has taken another dig at SRK who’s often heard proclaiming himself as the undisputed superstar of Bollywood.
While appearing on CNN's special edition of Talk Asia, Aamir was asked how he felt dethroning SRK from the throne of King Khan after the stupendous success of his last film Ghajini .
"I had absolutely no intention of kicking Shah Rukh off his pedestal. Though I have to say, I don't think he ever was on it." Aamir’s reply was straightforward.
In addition, Aamir went on to say that in his opinion none can dethrone Amitabh Bachchan .
"In my opinion, the actor who I really look up to is Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. He is someone whose work I really like, a fantastic actor and the kind of stardom Mr. Bachchan has seen, none of us can ever hope to see," Aamir said.
When Aamir was asked about this year’s multiple Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire , the actor said he wasn’t impressed with the movie.
"I thought the movie was well intended. It was a very sincere attempt, but it didn't touch me personally, and I suspect it because I'm not used to watching Indians speak English, all these slum kids talking in English... it's strange," said Aamir.
Aamir is presently busy with Raju Hirani’s film 3 Idiots and is overseeing the production of three films – Delhi Belly , Dhobi Ghaat and an untitled film.

I was scared to shoot with a snake: Preity Zinta

Actress Preity Zinta says she was scared as hell while shooting with a snake for her upcoming film Videsh .
Deepa Mehta’s acclaimed film Heaven On Earth is set to release in India as ‘Videsh’ and it has Preity playing a battered Punjabi housewife in Canada. Newcomer Vansh Bhardwaj plays Preity’s husband. Another co-star of the actress is a snake with whom Preity has many scenes.
"When I was told to shoot with the snake, I acted bold and told the unit that I want a real snake for the scenes, but when I saw the snake I got extremely scared. Still working on this film was the most enriching experience as an actor. When I am 80 years old and I'll look back, I'm sure 'Videsh' will be among the top five in the list of my favourite films," Preity told reporters in New Delhi.
Preity added that many people would identify with the film.
"Every scene in this film is some woman's story. It is intense and beautiful. I can't talk enough of the film. I just want every woman, man and family to go and watch this film. It is very important for people to support films like these, which showcase a real slice-of-life," Preity stressed.
Apparently, Preity’s performance in the film has impressed director Deepa Mehta a lot. Not to forget that Preity has already bagged the best actress award at the Chicago Film Festival.
Speaking about her role, Preity said: "When Deepa offered me this role, it was a dream come true. I knew it would be a huge step towards something different in my career. It was definitely a difficult role. But it has touched me. Normally we see either black or white characters in films. But very few films offer an actor to play grey characters that are closer to reality. But with this film I got an opportunity to play such a true character."
Shot in Toronto and Chandigarh, the film is slated for Indian release on March 27.

Shahrukh gets Hollywood writer for home production

Shahrukh Khan is going international with his next home production ‘Ra.1’. The star has roped in Hollywood’s famous writer and director David Benullo for writing the screenplay of his movie.
Recovering fast from his shoulder surgery, Shahrukh is committed to ‘Ra.1’, a huge-budgeted SFX flick which he is making for his son, Aryan.
According to sources, ‘Ra.1’ will be unlike any other sci-fi film made till now in India. And since Indian writers don’t have much experience of penning down such movies, Shahrukh got writer David Benullo from Hollywood, who has earlier written the screenplay of the movie ‘Around the World in 80 Days’, and is script writer for movies ‘Hallowed Ground’, ‘Cupid’ and ‘Shadow Man’.
The unusual title for the movie was chosen by Shahrukh himself. Ra is the name given to Egyptian sun god. The movie will be directed by Anubhav Sinha , who’s made duds like Tum Bin and Cash .
The director has confirmed the news, “Yes, David Benullo is one of the writers working on the script.”
The movie will come from SRK’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment and is slated for early next year release. Reports even convey that the movie can be co-produced by a Hollywood studio, to ensure its quality as a movie with high-tech specialized effects.
