salam-namaste-buzz Farhan Akhtar to sing for Rahman

The multi-talented Farhan Akhtar who showed his singing talent in Rock On is an excited man nowadays. He’s going to sing an A R Rahman composition.
He is a director, producer and actor and now on his way to become a professional singer. Well, he’s already showed what his vocal chords can do with his rocking numbers in the last year’s hit ‘Rock On’. It was the songs of this film that prompted Rahman to approach Farhan to sing a composition.
Rahman, who is composing music for the upcoming underwater adventure thriller Blue , wanted a husky voice for a cool song in the film. And when he heard Farhan’s vocals in ‘Rock On’, the Oscar winning musician decided to rope him in.
Needless to say, Farhan was first surprised by Rahman’s call and happily agreed to sing the song.
A self-confessed fan of the composer, Farhan has already met Rahman and discussed the number.

Karan Johar takes 'My Name Is Khan' to Cannes

Planning a grand global release for his next directorial venture ‘My Name Is Khan’, Karan Johar is at 62nd Cannes Film Festival, negotiating with foreign buyers.
The man knows that the film festival in Cannes can prove to be a big platform for his films. He promoted his Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna there a few years back, and now’s he’s taken two films, My Name Is Khan and director Rensil D’Silva’s Jihad (both Johar’s home productions) to Cannes. The festival has a special Market section and Karan will do active promotions to sell the international rights of the two movies to foreign buyers. The director is learnt to be in talks with some of the big foreign distributors and international studios.
Besides being a director, Karan has taken up production seriously. Dharma Productions has given various hits and its movies are well accepted overseas. So tapping a wider market at Cannes makes complete sense. However, this time Karan is also an official invitee to the festival. Directors Prem Soni and Imtiaz Ali have also been invited.
Though ‘My Name Is Khan’ is only 50 percent complete and Saif-Kareena starrer ‘Jihad’ is in post production stages, Karan is hopeful that things would surely work out. He has made a mini showreel of ‘My Name Is Khan’ to show at private meetings with the distributors. The movie has his old friend and favourite Shahrukh Khan along with his lucky charm Kajol .
But apart from watching, marketing his films and sharing ideas, Karan will walk the red carpet with many international film personalities at a gala event for a lifestyle brand.

Salman tries different hair styles for 'Veer'

His hair may not be all natural but that doesn’t mean Salman Khan can’t experiment with them. The star has tried three distinctive hairstyles for his film Veer .
Salman doesn’t like to follow current trends but loves to create his own style, says his hair stylist Aalim Hakim. Yes, we still remember his Tere Naam hair-do, which every second guy who saw the flick tried to ape.
The actor has three different looks in his period film ‘Veer’. Salman himself played a significant role in styling his look, of course supported by expert Aalim, who is also working with the star in London Dreams .
As per Hakim, in one part of the movie Salman sports short hair which was popular especially in 1900s, a classic hairstyle. For his second look, the superstar has long hair like Roman gladiators. In fact, Salman has used light chocolate brown hair colour for this look. And in his third style, Salman would be seen in a Shanghai-style pony tail.
Salman had to grow his hair for the movie, and is still experimenting with his different hair styles while shooting for ‘Veer’. But the actor will soon return to his short hair look as he has to start shooting for the second season of the hit quiz show ‘Dus Ka Dum’.
The actor’s hair style in ‘London Dreams’ is also very classic and different.

Madhuri Dixit celebrates her birthday with son

Madhuri Dixit turns 42 today and she plans to celebrate her birthday in a quiet way with her kids in the US, while her husband is away.
There won’t be any big party for the former Bollywood diva today. The actress will reportedly accompany her elder son Arin for a school visit to a museum. And she will miss her husband who generally surprises her with gifts on birthday.
Yes, Dr. Sriram Madhav Nene, a busy cardiovascular surgeon, is not with his dear wifey today, but Madhuri is expecting sweet surprises from her husband. However, she doesn’t know how he will manage as he is not in town.
Madhuri has plans for an outing this weekend, once her husband is through with his work and is back. She also plans to visit India by first week of June as the vacation of her kids, Arin and Ryan, will start around that time.
The dancing diva who ruled Bollywood for almost two decades is happy and content with her homely life away from the razzle-dazzle of glam world. Like a true Taurean, Madhuri is proud of herself and her decision to settle down in the US rather than continue working in Mumbai.
Madhuri chose a domestic life and started a family at a time when she was the reigning queen of Bollywood. Today, she is all for her family, supportive of her husband’s profession and his odd working hours, her two growing sons who need her at this time. She signifies womanhood in true sense, a lady who swapped her very successful filmy career with a merry married life.
We wish her a happy birthday.
