Viveck Vaswani is a happy man today. His much delayed film ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ is completely shot and ready to go into post production. Over the period of last two years the film has been getting delayed for many reasons, but recently when SRK hurt his shoulder and underwent a surgery it looked the movie might take another six months to complete. But SRK, who plays a cameo in the film, has surprised everyone, the film’s producer the most. “The moment he thought he was ready, he came for the film's shoot. He could have rested, but he chose to finish the film first. I had always left it to him to decide when he wanted to shoot,” Vaswani is quoted by a news agency. Vaswani went on to add that SRK is a bundle of energy. “With these three days of shooting, Shah Rukh has now completed his entire portion for the film. The man is a bundle of energy. He just breezed through his part and before we knew, we were done,” the producer added. In fact, SRK not just shot for a qawwali track but also a special promotional track which wasn’t earlier planned. “The qawwali track is going to be the major highlight of the film. It is eight-minutes long and features the entire principal cast of the film,” Vaswani revealed. Speaking about the second song Shah Rukh shot for, Vaswani said, “This would be a track for promotional purpose and would also appear in the end credit titles roll. This one is going to be a special number too and there's a lot in store for Shahrukh Khan fans.” The film’s leading stars are Fardeen Khan and Sushmita Sen . Now, with the shooting complete, the film is set to release on September 18. Big B's wax statue unveiled at Madame Tussauds New York A life-like wax figure of Amitabh Bachchan has been unveiled at the newly launched 'Bollywood Zone' in Madame Tussauds at Times Square in New York. Call it the ‘Slumdog’ effect, but visitors to the NY museum will now get a feel of a Bollywood, thanks to the wax replica of the legendary star of Indian movies. Dressed in a traditional black Sherwani suit with a gold and black scarf draped around his neck, 66-year-old Bachchan's wax figure is the first to be part of Madame Tussauds New York's all-new Bollywood Zone, which was created after numerous visitor requests. The wax figure was unveiled as five Bollywood dancers, dressed in colourful lehenga skirts, performed and taught 20 middle school students traditional Indian dance at the "Bollywood Bash". The brightly-coloured, fully-interactive Bollywood Zone at the museum will include a replica of the Taj Mahal, videos of authentic Indian dancers and a photo area where visitors can pose as Bollywood stars, designed to re-create the experience of being on a Bollywood film set with Bachchan. "Over the coming years, we plan to expand the area to include figures of other prominent Bollywood stars," Madame Tussauds, New York, said in a press release. Madame Tussauds London already has wax figures of a number of Bollywood stars including Amitabh and his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai. Hrithik to be wheelchair bound in Bhansali's film Hrithik Roshan The actor who’s done some deadly stunts in Hindi movies will be seen playing a wheelchair bound patient in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film. Hrithik Roshan will be seen in an entirely new avatar in his first film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali . Reports say the actor will play a patient suffering from paraplegia, a disorder that results from spinal cord injury and leads to impairment in sensory or motor functions, often binding the patients to wheelchair or bed. In the film titled Guzaarish , Hrithik will reportedly play a radio show host. Despite being a paraplegic, the character is charming and intelligent. Aishwarya Rai , who’s the film’s female lead, plays Hrithik’s nurse. She’s a married woman but gets attracted to him. The movie also deals with the subject of euthanasia, or mercy killing. The subject bears a striking similarity to the 1972 play ‘Whose Life Is It Anyway’ and the Oscar-winning Spanish film ‘The Sea Inside’ which was about a bed-ridden man fighting a legal battle for 28 years to end his own life. When he loses the legal battle, he eventually kills himself with the help of a nurse who’s in love with him. The film was based on a true story. Now, how much resemblance Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’ has with ‘The Sea Inside’ remains to be seen? Akshay and John to do pole dancing! John Abraham Imagine the sexy dudes John Abraham and Akshay Kumar swaying their hot bods while swinging and cavorting around strip poles. Well, this might turn into reality if director David Dhawan’s son Rohit manages the casting coup he’s planning for his directorial debut. According to sources, the film is about two young jobless men, struck by recession. And in order to earn their daily bread and butter, they end up in a strip club where they do pole dancing and vie to outdo each other. John and Akshay are likely to play these two men. The film will reportedly be produced by Akshay Kumar himself. Akshay and John were last seen in Priyadarshan’s comedy flick Garam Masala where they were busy chasing girls and clicking their hot photos. For John, the role can be a cakewalk as he is quite comfortable with skin show. His salacious trunk stint in Dostana not only left females, but also males, gasping for breath. John has also gone Full Monty in Yashraj’s New York , which is yet to release. And considering Akshay’s daring unbuttoning act at Lakme India Fashion Week, he too might not have inhibition dropping his pants in the film. So both the guys have that attitude to carry the characters. And reports are that they will soon be visiting Los Angeles to learn pole dancing. Salman and Ajay turn rockstars! Salman Khan Thousands of young fans went ecstatic as Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan took the stage to perform live. The two stars lip-synched their parts of the six-minute song “Jashn Hai Jeet Ka” while rocking on stage during the shoot of their film London Dreams at Karjat. Since director Vipul Amrutlal Shah wanted to capture the ambience of a concert, the song was shot in a flow, using a multi-camera set up. To invite the crowds to the shoot at ND Studios in Karjat, advertisements were published and posters were put up in colleges, calling on the youngsters to be part of the song. And the youths turned up in droves for the shoot. A set replicating the Wembley Stadium of London was erected inside the ND Studios. While initially it seemed that managing the crowd of as many as 5000 people would be a tough task, the crowd began to enjoy itself once the music started. While Salman and Ajay performed on stage, 18 cameras (each covering about three different angles) shot the stars and the crowd. According to sources, it almost seemed like a live concert because the crowd enjoyed the music as much as it loved watching Salman and Ajay. |
