Jesus! Hrithik Roshan as Christ?

Hrithik Roshan Who would have thought that our desi hunk in beard would be compared to none less that Jesus Christ?

Hrithik Roshan ’s bearded and disheveled look in Kites is creating a lot of buzz in international market, particularly among distributors in Latin America who have been flummoxed by the Bollywood actor’s facial resemblance to Jesus Christ.

Rakesh Roshan , who’s the film’s producer, has confirmed in a media report that a lot of people in Cannes, where ‘Kites’ was promoted last month, did point out that Hrithik’s looks were suited for a western film. However, he didn’t confirm that Hrithik’s look was compared to Christ’s.
In ‘Kites’, Hrithik plays a character named J who’s left to die in the scorching desert of Mexico. He sports an unkempt look with scraggy beard, tousled hair and ragged clothes. The actor’s look, with a fiery glint in his eye, has come for a lot of praise, but being compared to the Lord himself is quite unexpected.

Bollywood strike ends, films to release from next week

Aamir Khan Finally, the two-month long drought at the theatres is about to end as the producers/distributors and the multiplexes have reached an agreement over revenue sharing.
The standoff over the profit sharing ratios ended late on Thursday night after a 12-hour long meeting at Yashraj Studios between the exhibitors (multiplexes) and producers.
The strike began on April 4 by Bollywood producers who alleged that they stand to lose from the increasing demands of multiplexes for a larger chunk in the profits. The film industry stood united in strike and even big stars like Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan (who are producers as well) came out in full support of the producers’ demand.
Now, after two months of negotiations and failed talks, the impasse is broken and an agreement has finally been reached.
President of the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) Mukesh Bhatt has confirmed this to a news network. However, the official confirmation of the new profit sharing ratios is still awaited.
The top national multiplex chains in India are PVR, Big, Inox, Fame, Cinemax and Fun.
With the ending of the strike, new Bollywood movies will begin releasing from next week onward.
Kal Kissne Dekha , introducing Jackky Bhagnani and Vaishali Desai , is set to release on June 12.

Rejecting Australian honour was personal decision: Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan said on Tuesday that his decision to reject the Honorary Doctorate by an Australian university was a personal one.
In a remarkable gesture of solidarity, the Big B politely declined to accept the doctorate offered by the Queensland University in Brisbane, due to the recent racial attacks on Indians in OZ.
"It was a personal decision that I decided to make public through my blog. I did not feel like accepting the honour when so much dishonour against my countrymen was taking place (in Australia)," Bachchan told reporters during a press conference to promote the upcoming IIFA awards.
Not just rejecting the doctorate, the superstar has also cancelled his trip to Australia to attend a retrospective on his films in Brisbane Film Festival.
When questioned if his decision to reject the honour was premature, the actor said, "I do not know the cause but I reacted to it on a personal level. I followed my heart and that is all to it.
"Brisbane Film Festival retrospective was like a celebration and for me to be going for my own celebration to a region which witnessed such atrocity against my own countrymen. I don't think it was ethical and therefore I turned it down politely," the actor said.
Big B, along with son Abhishek Bachchan , has been shooting his film Pa in Delhi since the last few days.
