Two guys not enough for Katrina in Dostana 2
We’ve all heard of ‘three men and a little lady’ but now get ready for ‘four men and a stunning heroine’ as Katrina Kaif has been signed as the star of the sequel to Dostana.
Not only will John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan romance Kat but will now have Arjun Rampal and Ritesh Deshmukh after her too! Dostana 2 brings together the dream team of the original film in director, Tarun Mansukhani and producer Karan Johar. They have the perfect script and now the perfect girl to match the role.
Katrina has been traveling the globe recently, after spending her birthday in London; she then headed to Spain for a holiday. The actress is now in New York before she jets to Chicago to help celebrate Independence Day.
A source said, “Katrina was chosen to play the female lead after much deliberation.” So what actually clinched it for Kat? Actually, it was YOU! Yes, that’s right, give yourselves some credit as the source went on to say: “they felt that Katrina’s ‘most hit’ status on the Internet makes it apt for her to play the role of the ‘most hit’ girl by the boys in Dostana 2.”
Bebo, Saif prefer to stay indoors
Ah! The price one has to pay for being a celebrity. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, who are riding the crest of popularity wave, thanks to the success of their respective films Love Aaj Kal and Kambakkht Ishq, rue not being able to move about freely in Mumbai without the fear of being mobbed and, god forbid, mauled by their fans.
So the couple prefers to stay indoors and do their own thing, which is - don’t let that imagination of yours run wild - watching television, DVDs or reading books, as Saif is turning out to be quite a bookworm nowadays.
“It’s getting kind of claustrophobic,” Kareena tells a news daily. But she already seems to have found a solution. Which is - buy a house in Switzerland and spend a couple of months every year rolling in the soft snow of the Alps with Saif. Moreover, there won’t be star-struck fans on their backs all the time.
“I have been giving it serious thought… I can stay in Switzerland for three months a year and work in Mumbai,” she is quoted as saying by the news daily. Not a bad idea!
SRK expects to get an Oscar for ‘My Name Is Khan’!
Forget Aishwarya Rai being the global face of Bollywood, it’s Shahrukh Khan who is ready to conquer the world with the movie My Name Is Khan. King Khan was talking in a recent press conference thrown to announce the MNIK distribution deal with the Fox Star Studios. He is co-producing the film along with director and friend Karan Johar. The actor was asked whether he expects to win an Oscar since the last Indian film Fox distributed - Slumdog Millionaire swept the board at the Oscars. SRK answered with his usual wit, “My Oscars should have come 10 years back. I have written a letter to them asking why the delay.”
Fox has bought the distribution deal for a reported amount of Rs 98 crore, and that’s humungous for any Bollywood film till date. However, Shahrukh and Karan aren’t confirming or denying the figure. The president of international productions, Fox, said that the company selected ‘My Name Is Khan’ because it was “especially unique”.
In ‘My Name Is Khan’, Shahrukh plays Rizwan Khan who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome. With this film once again we can see the ebullient, evergreen pair of Bollywood, SRK and Kajol, together after almost eight years. The film is about love, relationships and also about Islam and Western culture.
The movie will apparently release by early 2010 and Shahrukh will be one step closer to conquering the world.
