Hrithik Roshan pays their medical bills -

Preparing for his role of a wheelchair bound paraplegic in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Guzaarish has given Hrithik Roshan a peek into the lives of the paraplegics who have to not just deal with their relative immobility but also face many other medical complications as well.

Being a stickler for perfection, Hrithik actually met several patients suffering from paraplegia in and around Mumbai and was deeply moved by their resilience and determination.

So much so that he’s now footing the medical bills of 10 paraplegia patients. It includes the cost of staying in the hospital as well as medicine bills. Reports say Hrithik has to dole out about Rs 7 lakh per month for these patients. And he’s doing it happily.

The actor, presently committed to Bhansali’s film, is now set to learn magic tricks from a Ukrainian magician for some portions of his role in ‘Guzaarish’, co-starring Aishwarya Rai.

The scares are scarce. And the ones that are don’t exactly leave you with sweaty palms, electrified hair or shaky bum on the edge of the seat. The scares in Sangeeth Sivan’s horror flick Click at the most tickle you, tingle you and make your heart skip a beat less often than it should have. Reason? The director mostly resorts to all the tried-and-tested formulas in the annals of horror genre to spook the daylights out of the viewers.

For starters there’s a ghost (Sneha Ullal) so ashen, blanched and pale that she looks to have walked out straight from a talcum powder factory. Expectedly she also defies the laws of gravity, walks downside up on the ceilings, wafts in and out of rooms and cupboards, and stays invisible to the human eye but is captured in the photographs of the camera that the fashion photographer hero Avi (Shreyas Talpade) loves to click. Even the tactics she employs to scare the hero, rattling the windows, staring back in the mirrors, blowing out candles etc, aren’t that spooky. And oh! there’s that clichéd sequence of a car accident on a dark night when Avi and his glamourous girlfriend Sonia (Sada) mow down a strange looking girl and do the most obvious thing a couple after an accident on a foggy night would do - run!

However, there are a few moments in the film when the anticipation that the director builds grooves in well with the background score and the camera angles to give you the heebie-jeebies. But such moments are few and far between.

Also director Sangeeth Sivan opens the cards a tad too prematurely. The basic plot of the apparition having a connection with the hero’s debauched past may not be novel but could have been better unravelled. Shreyas Talpade puts in a sincere performance, and Sada does well too. Sneha Ullal, however, remains mostly expressionless even when she isn’t playing the ghost.

A shoddy direction apart, the movie’s tacky special effects and pointless songs just don’t click.

Kareena Kapoor wants Soha’s boyfriend!

The powerful lady of Bollywood is getting influential. Kareena Kapoor has apparently taken Soha Ali Khan’s beau Kunal Khemu under her wings. Now what?

The Kapoor lady finds Kunal a good actor and has recommended him to director Rohit Shetty for the third sequel of ‘Golmaal’. And Bebo is already on board for the same film.

‘Golmaal 3’ will roll soon and has a fantastic star cast like the original. If Kunal is finalized, he can share screen space with Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Arshad Warsi and Mithun Chakraborty. And this break could be a golden chance for the boy who still has to get his share of success in Bollywood.

As a source tells a daily, when Bebo came to know that Rohit is still at casting stage for ‘Golmaal 3’, she discussed Kunal with him. She is of the opinion that though Kunal has caliber, his failure as an actor is because of wrong career choices.

Bebo really cares!

'Dostana' sequel will be funnier: John Abraham -

If the gay antics of John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan in Dostana had you in splits, then get ready to double up with laughter in the film’s sequel which John promises will be funnier than the original.

“It is hilarious! I almost fell off the chair while reading the script, it is so funny!” said John on the sidelines of an event where he launched new bike models from Yamaha at the ongoing Auto Expo in New Delhi.

Speaking about the film, John confirmed that he and Abhishek would reprise their roles.

“The sequel will pick up from where Dostana left off. So there is me and Abhishek playing the same characters again,” he said.

Having worked together in two films (Dhoom and Dostana) now, John and Abhi share quite a rapport.

“After we starred together in Dostana, Abhishek has nicknamed me as his 'jiggly poo'. He sends me messages on my birthday saying 'Happy Birthday Jiggly Poo'!” John revealed.

Seen last year in just one movie New York, John says he would rather do quality films than run after quantity.

“This is how it has been. In 2008 there was ‘Dostana’, ‘New York’ in 2009. I would rather do sensible stuff and be remembered for them rather than merely increase the number of films in my kitty,” John said.

Speaking about his passion for bikes, John said he believes in safe driving rather than showing stunts on bikes.

“I don't do any more stupid stunts, as I have realised that youngsters do follow me and try to ape whatever I do. I never go in for rash biking and ride really slow so that people do it too,” said the actor.
