‘Bigg Boss 4’ is set to begin in October and its host Salman Khan is reportedly pocketing anywhere between Rs 3.5 to 5 crore per episode. That’s a jaw-dropping amount offered to any host till now. If for the previous season Amitabh Bachchan got Rs 1.75 crore per episode, Shilpa Shetty took home approximately Rs 40 lakhs per episode for Season 2 before that. Now, with the flamboyant Sallu as the host, Bigg Boss Season 4 promises tons of excitement. And going by some of the possible housemates names that have already started doing the round, we wonder how exciting the show is going to be. Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif in a royal love story? Paris-based Indian filmmaker Vijay Singh is set to do what none has been able to in Hindi film industry so far. He’s in talks with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan for his next project, an 18th century historical love story between an Awadh king and a British girl. Singh, who has shot critically acclaimed feature films like Jaya Ganga and One Dollar Curry in the past feels that Shahrukh, who has previously played emperor Ashoka, will be perfect as Nawab Naseeruddin Haidar in his third film, The Opium Symphony, based on his book Whirlpool of Shadows. “I had met Shah Rukh regarding the movie and he had liked the idea. I am planning to approach him again for the role of the Nawab. He ruled Awadh from 1826-36 and fell in love with a British girl but their love did not suit the interest of opium traders at that time,” Singh said in an interview. The coup is that to play the British girl, Singh has his eye on Katrina Kaif. “Earlier I was planning to take a Hollywood starlet opposite him for the role of the British girl but I might talk to Katrina Kaif. I have been told she is British and is a fine actress,” Singh said. Saif Ali Khan to celebrate birthday without Kareena Kapoor For more than two years, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have been inseparable on the days that have been special for either of them. Kareena particularly takes charge of things on Saif’s birthday which falls on August 16. In 2008 she had taken personal pains to host a party at a hotspot in Mumbai. Last year, she whisked Saif away to an undisclosed location for undisturbed TLC. This year, however, the couple may not be together as work is keeping them busy. Saif is going to be busy with his shoot of Agent Vinod in Latvia, while Kareena is in London, shooting with Shahrukh Khan for the superstar’s Ra.One. She will fly to Mumbai soon to promote her upcoming film We Are Family but then return back to London to resume the shoot of Ra.One. Though rumour has it that she has asked SRK to relieve her for a few days to join Saif in Latvia on his birthday, Kareena denies having done so. In fact, she says she’s unsure if she’ll be with Saif on his birthday. In that case, Saif may well have to celebrate his birthday without Bebo. |
