Nothing succeeds like success. Salman Khan has been witnessing this adage come alive after the super-success of Dabangg. He’s been on the wishlist of many a producer, but now he is getting feelers from the most unexpected quarters. Karan Johar, a staunch Shahrukh Khan loyalist, is now learnt to be wooing Salman for his next production to be directed by Rensil D’Silva, he of the super-dud Kurbaan. Rensil is reported to have penned an action-thriller on the lines of ‘Oceans Eleven’ this time and he’s of the view that Salman Khan suits the role of the leading man best. Karan is on the same page. So, the buzz is that K-Jo is sending feelers to the handsome Khan. He was recently in talks with Salman for an appearance on his show Koffee With Karan, but the talks fell through after Salman reportedly demanded a contribution for his charity Being Human in return for his appearance on the show. Now, will Salman take the bait and give his nod to a film being made under Dharma Productions, whose poster-boy for many years has been Shahrukh Khan? We won’t dare to answer that because predicting Salman’s actions is like predicting weather. Or even worse! First look - Rajinikanth in 'Rana' After wowing us all with his robotic avatars in the last year’s superhit Endhiran, the south megastar Rajinikanth returns with his next film Rana. The movie stars Deepika Padukone opposite Rajini. Two more actresses will be roped in as the film has Rajini playing a triple role - a young Rajini, a middle-aged Rajini and an older Rajini. The first look of the film has been released, and it shows Rajini wielding a sword in a costume that gives a somewhat periodic look. In the background is a masked face. Rana will be directed by K S Ravikumar. A R Rahman will compose the film’s music. South star Karthi settles for arranged marriage Wedding bells are tolling for Tamil star Karthik Sivakumar aka Karthi. He will tie the knot with an English literature graduate named Ranjani from Chennai. The match has been fixed by the elders of the families. In fact, it was Karthi’s father Sivakumar who made the announcement of Karthi’s marriage with Ranjani. The wedding date has been fixed too. It’s July 3, 2011. Ranjani is MA post-graduate in English literature from Stella Maris College in Chennai. She is the daughter of Erode Chinnasamy and Jothi Meenakshi Sneha Reddy. Karthi, on the other hand, has studied Industrial Engineering from the US. He began his acting career in 2007 with the superhit film Paruthiveeran. Thereafter, he has starred in box office success like Naan Mahaan Alla, Siruthai and Aayirathil Oruvan. Eventually, Karthi aims to turn to film direction some day. He has already assisted Mani Ratnam.. |
