• Rajinikanth is ‘stable’; fans relieved Rajinikanth was shifted from the private ward to the ICU of Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre on Wednesday, sparking the rumour that his condition may be deteriorating. But the doctors at the SRMC, and Rajinikanth’s wife say the superstar is ‘stable’. Speaking to reporters outside the hospital, Rajinikanth’s wife Latha said: “He is doing well, he is fine. It was an infection that has created an imbalance. He has been moved to ICU only to give more protection and give proper treatment because it's a sterile area.” Latha also dismissed the rumours that Rajinikanth’s health was declining. “It was an infection that created an imbalance. It started with stomach and respiratory infection is also there... he is fine now,” she added. The doctors at SRMC also said that Rajinikanth is ‘hale and hearty’ and that he had a normal meal today. Fans who had gathered outside the hospital were relieved after the assurance from the doctors. Many fans have been praying and performing religious rituals for the good health of Rajinikanth. • Shahrukh Khan injures his leg He may have scraped through the shooting of his action films Ra.One and Don 2 without sustaining any major injury but it was a puddle that did Shahrukh Khan in. Yes, the superstar recently got hurt when he accidentally landed in a puddle. On Wednesday, when Shahrukh attended the music launch of his forthcoming home production Always Kabhi Kabhi in Mumbai, the slight limp in his walk was apparent and he even grimaced with pain at times. “I have hurt my leg. I wish I could say it happened during the shoot of Ra.One or Don. But it happened when my leg got stuck into a puddle recently. I turned my leg to take out my foot and the meniscus (cartilage) got ruptured,” Shahrukh told reporters about his leg injury. During his long acting career, Shahrukh has sustained quite a number of minor and a few major injuries and has even undergone a back surgery. But his stamina, his vim and vigour remains unabated. • Salman Khan copies Shahrukh Khan! They are like two swords that can’t be in the same scabbard. Yet, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan can’t totally ignore each other. The latest we hear is that a scene Salman Khan recently shot for his film Bodyguard is inspired from Shahrukh Khan’s Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. The said scene, shot on Salman Khan and Hazel Keech earlier this week at Mumbai Central Station had Salman helping Hazel board a moving train. It’s reminiscent of the similar scene in the climax and beginning of DDLJ when Kajol runs on the platform after a train and Shahrukh, already aboard, gives her a helping hand. Incidentally, even the situation in ‘Bodyguard’ is somewhat similar though it doesn’t come in the climax. In the scene, Hazel is late in arriving at the platform while Salman has already boarded the train. When she runs after the departing train, Salman extends his hand to her. So, the question arises: Is Salman Khan copying his friend-turned-foe Shahrukh? Or maybe even DDLJ can’t claim a copyright over the scene which has featured in some early European films as well. |
