Frenemies Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan seem to have perfected the art of avoiding each other. Be it an award function, a party or shooting on adjacent sets, Salman and Shahrukh are now past masters at remaining oblivious of each other’s proximity. So it happened at the mahurat of Karan Johar’s new film Student Of The Year, which stars the young actors like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra, that Salman and Shahrukh dropped by on the sets to congratulate Johar but timed their arrival and departure meticulously to avoid bumping into each other. The mahurat of Student of the Year was held at Yashraj Studios and none other than Yash Chopra directed the first shot. Thereafter a lot of friends came to the sets to wish Karan Johar well for his new project. Karan Johar’s best friend Shahrukh Khan obviously couldn’t go truant on the special day and dropped by on the sets. So did Salman Khan who was shooting for close by for Aditya Chopra. But to everyone’s relief the two Khans did not come face to face as they arrived at different times and departed without overstaying their welcome • Not A Love Story - Movie Preview In the summer of 2008, two lovers did a terrible thing. In his new film Not A Love Story, director Ram Gopal Varma has tried to create the fatal love triangle that made headlines three years back. The film stars Mahi Gill, Deepak Dobriyal and Ajay Gehi in principal roles. It is inspired by the 2008 murder case of television executive Neeraj Grover, that led to the arrest of Kannada actress Maria Susairaj and co-accused, ex-naval officer Emile Jerome Mathew. Synopsis: In the summer of 2008, an aspiring actress (Mahi Gill) was doing the rounds of the Mumbai film industry. In the course of her efforts, she met a man (Ajay Gehi) who lent her a helping hand. She got into a relationship with this man in spite of she already having a boy friend (Deepak Dobriyal) back in her home town. And one fateful morning, her boyfriend landed up when she was with that man in her apartment... What followed after that shook an entire nation. The movie has already kicked up a lot of controversy because of its subject. Director Ram Gopal Varma has been slapped with legal notices from Maria Susairaj and Emile Jerome Mathew’s kin regarding the content of the film. The film has music by Sandeep Chowta and is produced by Sunil Bohra and Shailesh R Singh. • Shammi Kapoor lives on inside us: Hrithik Roshan Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan says that the deceased actor Shammi Kapoor will not be forgotten. “Tum mujhe yun bhula na paaoge” the song from Shammi Kapoor’s film Pagla Kahin Ka rings so true now that he’s left us. Hrithik Roshan, who is a great fan of the late actor, says a life like Shammi Kapoor’s should be rejoiced not mourned. “Legends like Shammi Kapoor do not die...he lives, inside us, around us. A journey such as his should be rejoiced, not mourned. Of course, we'll miss his physical presence terribly, but his magic lives on within you and me...and I will make sure my sons know the superstar their dad admired and loved the most,” Hrithik said in a press statement on Monday. Hrithik has two sons: Hrehaan, five, and Hridhaan, three. Hrithik even says it’s not appropriate to use tributes like RIP (Rest In Peace) for Shammi Kapoor. “For you I don't want to say R.I.P, but rather D.I.H ...dancing in heaven now...I love you,” Hrithik added. Shammi Kapoor passed away on Sunday at the age of 79. He was cremated on Monday morning. |
