dot-com-newsHen lays green eggs

A Croatian poultry farmer is doing a cracking Easter trade in naturally-laid green-coloured eggs. Stipa Gregacevic was astonished when his prize hen Fata began laying coloured eggs at the family farm in Forkusevci."I can't really explain why it happens," said Stipa. "Some say it might be because we put red pepper in the hen food."And Stipa says customers are happy to shell out twice the going rate for normal eggs to buy a carton of his coloured specials."We're an organic farm and we're always being told to be Greener but I don't think this is what the scientists have in mind," he added.

Grand National winner's teeth mocked

Racing fans are calling for a BBC presenter to be sacked for mocking Grand National winner Liam Treadwell's teeth. As Clare Balding interviewed the jockey on live TV after his win on 100-1 outsider Mon Mome, she said: "Give us a big grin to the camera."And when he smiled but kept his mouth closed, she added: "No, no - let us see your teeth."As Liam, 23, obeyed, Clare continued: "He hasn't got the best teeth in the world but you can afford to go and get them done now if you like."Her comments infuriated fans. One wrote on the BBC's website: "When Liam Treadwell has just won one of the most dangerous horse races it is incredible that all Clare Balding could do was comment about his teeth - how about a simple congratulation?"Liam insisted he was not upset by Clare's comment, saying: "Afterwards someone said to me, 'Did you realise what she said?' but I took it in jest. I wasn't offended or annoyed. Clare apologised to me afterwards so there are no hard feelings there."His fiancée Emily Warner, 19, told the Daily Mirror: "I love him whatever Clare Balding says. Any other day those comments would have really upset him but I think he was just so happy to have won, he wasn't that fussed."I don't think he'd ever change his teeth now anyway - Liam's quite superstitious and it could change his luck!"The BBC said: "This was intended as a light-hearted comment and Clare apologises for any offence caused to viewers. She has apologised directly to Liam."

Piglet has two mouths and three eyes

Chinese farmer was shocked when one of his new piglets was born with three eyes and two mouths. The piglet was among eight newborn piglets at Liu Dingsheng's farm in Chongren County, Zhejiang province."We were shocked to see such a weird looking creature," said Liu, "I don't really know what to do with it."Liu told People's Daily that the mother was a four-year-old sow which was completely healthy and normal. A local vet said the abnormality may have been caused by genetic mutation or feed pollution. As the world's fastest developing industrial nation, China suffers heavily from environmental pollution.
